Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee (or Moka pot coffee)
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1-2 tbsp piloncillo or brown sugar
  • 1 small pinch of cinnamon + more for garnish
  • A tiny pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

Equipment

  • 1 Moka Pot or Drip Coffee Maker

Method
 

  1. As you brew your coffee, add the cocoa powder, sugar, and spices directly to the coffee grounds.
  2. Brew as normal. The hot water will extract the flavors together.
  3. Pour into a cup and garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
  4. Pro Tip: For an authentic finish, add a splash of Mexican vanilla extract after brewing.
