Honey Cinnamon Flat White Coffee Recipe

Honey Cinnamon Flat White

Region: Modern Craft Coffee Evolution
Total Time: 5 minutes
Indulgence: ☕️☕️ (Medium)
The Story:
While the Flat White itself has Antipodean roots, the addition of honey and cinnamon is a modern twist born in third-wave coffee shops. This version adds a natural sweetness and warming spice that complements the intense, smooth character of a well-made flat white, making it a perennial favorite during the cooler months.

Ingredients

  • 2 shots of espresso (ristretto shots are ideal)
  • 1 tbsp honey (or to taste)
  • cup microfoam milk (steamed with very fine, velvety foam)

Equipment

  • 1 Espresso machine (with steam wand)

Method

  1. Pull your espresso shots into a small cup and stir in the honey until dissolved.
  2. Steam your milk to create a silky microfoam (no large bubbles).
  3. Gently pour the steamed milk into the espresso, aiming to create a small dot of white foam ("flat") on the surface.
  4. Pro Tip: Use a local, raw honey for a more complex flavor profile that shines through the coffee.
